I’ve always enjoyed being creative and have spent most of my working life as a journalist and feature writer.
When my children were small, I enrolled in a local art class and spent a few happy years learning to draw and paint with pastels and acrylics. But it wasn’t until I volunteered for my local art trail that I discovered a passion for textiles after taking a workshop in felt-making.

As most felt-makers will testify, wool is a fabulous medium. Not only is it soft and very tactile, there are so many wonderful colours and different textures to work with. The wool tops can be blended together to create subtle differences in shade and light and the finished picture often takes on the appearance of a watercolour.
I’m lucky to live in a beautiful part of Yorkshire and I love taking photos of the wonderful changing moors and wild landscapes, while out on a trail run or a hike.
